MyCityWay is a real-time application that allows road users to observe live traffic cameras on smartphones so that they can decide if, where and when they want to drive or take public transport, depending on their destination.

mycitymyway.jpgThe venture was formed in 2009 from the initiative of three Indian masterminds: Sonpreet Bhatia, Puneet Mehta, and Archana Patchirajan and in 2011, BMW invested 5 million dollars into this mobile application. Ian Robertson, responsible for sales and marketing at BMW, explains that 'mobility solutions of the future have become an integral part of the car industry, so either you get onboard or you're in real trouble.'

No more running behind buses or fighting for a parking spot. With MyCityWay, mobile phones become magnifiers on road life and users receive continuous live feeds on traffic and road conditions. This innovation will completely change your experience of knowing the road and leave almost nothing to uncertainty, but on the contrary, allow you to plan everything beforehand. You will even be able to find the ideal parking place before seeing it as you watch live traffic, saving you time and pain.

This is not all however. MyCityWay offers several additional opportunities to interact with your urban space. For example, it allows you to find specific venues in areas of your choice suiting your needs, such as a French restaurant with an outdoor space close to where you live. It also allows you to buy tickets for a movie or special event directly from the application or to keep track of apartments available for rent and job advertisements. Finally but not exhaustively, you can also interact with other MyCityWay users to agree on the most convenient rendezvous venue for your next outing, or simply exchange information and tips on your urban surroundings.

MyCityWay is all about optimizing and enhancing one's urban experience, something that is not only useful to residents but to tourists as well. In December 2009, the first application was called NYC Way covering New York City, today, the application covers 70 urban scenes in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia and the company keeps adding one city on average per week.
