range-rover-part-3_04.jpgFinally, we had received a brochure through the post detailing specifications that were going to be available for our new Range Rover Evoque, which we were so excitedly awaiting. The next step was to get together with Marc Sack who is the Sales Specialist at the dealership Harwoods in Edenbridge Kent.

Graham and I spent the weekend mulling over the specification, the exterior colours. Veering towards White exterior, then Black, then what interior? What extras if any were needed? What was going to be standard? My first and only criticism of Range Rover, so far, was the lack of information given to the customer. Even the brochure which had been sent to us was quite non descript, with no pricing available. The letter that accompanied the brochure suggested that the prices would be available on line. Well we tried in vain all weekend to get the prices ‘up’ on the screen with no luck. So, we were, as you can imagine quite keen to see Marc on the Monday. It seems in general all the information is being ‘drip fed’ to customers and even Sales Teams alike.

range-rover-part-3_02.jpgMarc was exceptionally friendly and full of information on the prices. We already knew that there were to be three models. The ‘Pure’, ‘Prestige’  and finally ‘The Dynamic’. As we were not looking for a sporty car and purely going for the luxury, and practability our mind was already made up that we would go with The Prestige.  The word itself suggests its whole look. Having finally agreed colours, White exterior and the interior being Ivory perforated leather seats, it was just a case on deciding on the wheels, which turned out rather refreshingly, would be the only ‘extra’ on our list. We went for the 20 inch silver polished alloys. Everything else was standard.

The pure which has to be said in itself is a pretty desirable car starts out at around the £27,000 mark, that is on the road. The Dynamic ends up being around the £43,300 mark on the road, so in terms of price they really are competitive.

range-rover-part-3_03.jpgRange Rover itself quotes as saying “Superbly designed, Carefully created by Range Rover designers to give more opportunity for individual expression and to make every journey more personal. It is the true Range Rover experience on a compact scale.” We are as yet to drive it, but from what I have seen, it really does do exactly what it says on the tin from a design point of view.

So, our order is in. Now for the wait, and quite a significant one at that. September 2011 is the earliest we will have it. With an official ‘launch’ hopefully in August, at the dealership. As always, though, I will have plenty more to say before then!

What a fantastic opportunity to be able to spec a new car like this. It really does sound like a great car and good sales / support network.

I would love to won one of these, but being that it is a 3 door it is just not practical with young children. Unfortunately the 5 doors Range Rover is out of my price range so I till have to stick with my family estate!

I was lucky to have the use of a 3 door Evoque for a week in late June. Red, 20 inch alloys, full panoramic glass roof, SD4 6 speed manual and magna ride suspension.

What a car, beats my Freelander hands down, soooo much attention out on the roads, 1200 miles covered, averaging 44 mpg (not being driven to slowly i might add)Handles better than most would be sports coupes, the only way to tell it was diesel was at the pumps- as the power delivery, aceleration of 190hp were quite amazing.

You will not be dissapointed, I have driven many makes and models of copues-4wds etc, this makes the Nissan, BMW , Audi and VW competion look ill conceived and leaves it wanting, RULE BRITTANIA-We have a winner

I now want want!!!
